“My MS Outlook is not working fine, what should I do now?”

This is the common question I come across from those who are using MS Outlook as their email client.

But, that does not mean that there is something wrong with the software itself. MS Outlook is one of the most popular email clients available in the market indeed. What leads to the problem is the improper handling of the software and demands outlook repair pst operation.

You need to perform certain tasks like periodical archiving of the messages to the PST file. But, even that, unfortunately, cannot save you from the obstacles that you get while using Outlook email client. This is because your PST file may go corrupt. There could be various reasons for the damage of PST files, and controlling these reasons is not always in our hand, as ideally it should have been.

Does that mean we are helpless? – No.

There are a number of professional outlook repair pst tools that can repair corrupted PST files, letting us have access to the lost messaging data. But, before you opt for any of those Tools you should try the scanpst.exe – the repairing utility offered by the vendor. This utility is usually found in the following location in your system: “<disk drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi”, for Outlook 2007 it is “Office12” folder under “Program Files \Microsoft Office” and for Outlook 2010 the location is “Office14” folder in “Program Files \Microsoft Office”.

However, not all type of corruption issues can be handled by the scanpst.exe, for example, it fails to offer satisfactory results in case the size of the PST file exceeds 2 GB. So, next time if you get any error messages such as “cannot find .PST file” or “Unknown error” or any other error messages and scanpst.exe fails to solve the problem then use third party outlook repair pst tools available in the market.

More prudent decision would be to already have such software in your inventory –tried and tested; rather than waiting for the disaster to happen.

Some common questions that you need to ask before purchasing any software are: Can it recover all kind of messaging data such as emails, contacts, attachments etc.? What is the quality of the recovered messages? Is it compatible with all versions of the Outlook?

Your software should answer “Yes” for all these questions. Outlook Repair PST is one such Tool that has been continually getting positive reviews from users who have it.

Working with MS Outlook is as simple as any other email messaging system available today. We often work with MS Outlook without bothering to know about the storage system of Outlook. Outlook stores all its emails and other elements in PST files. Sometimes, you might notice excessive slow performance of Outlook or frequent error messages prompting on the screen. The reason behind such behavior is the corruption in PST files that too cause corruption in Outlook. You may encounter the following error message while working with corrupted PST files of MS Outlook.

“Outlook.pst cannot be accessed - 0×80040116.”

The possible cause for this type of error is the damage in the index of your file. Whenever, the index is damaged, you encounter problem in accessing Outlook. You may also face tremendously slow performance of Outlook. PST files may get corrupted due to lots of reasons including virus attack, abrupt system shutdown, sudden power failure and several hardware as well as software malfunctions. If you are working with MS Outlook 2003 or earlier versions, you should remember that these versions do not support PST files with size 2GB. Whenever PST files in these versions exceed the prescribed size of 2GB, PST file starts corrupting. At such situation, it is recommended to use PST Crop tool and compress the PST file. Microsoft’s Inbox Repair Tool or Scanpst.exe tool appears to be the best possible solution to instantly deal with PST corruption issues. It is an inbuilt tool that can resolve PST corruption issues at primary basis. But, this tool has some limitation and can only repair the files with PST header corruption and not any other issue. For complex situations, one must utilize some commercial Outlook repair PST tool to get back the data.

Repair PST file is counted as the perfect solution for repairing corrupted or damaged PST files and getting back the email messages and other data in their exact original form.

‘Better safe than sorry’, this implies in the cyber world also. It’s better to have backups rather than lamenting over corrupt files. This is true for anything to everything in the computer zone. Be it your data on hard drive, movies, photos, images or even your email items. Here I am concerned about MS Outlook though. Outlook has two single large files, OST and PST. OST serves as a backup but doesn’t necessarily hold every data. Moreover OST can also get corrupted along with PST. So, it is advised to keep a backup of PST and it is very easy. Close Outlook and just copy the .pst file to your safe location which can be another physical drive, external hard drive, flash drive, CD/DVD or any storage media.

The next step would be to check the backup file as it is worthless if you can’t restore data from it. To test your .pst file, copy the file to the location where you want to work with it like; D:\My Documents\My Outlook\Test. Now open Outlook and connect to the file by choosing; File-> Open-> Outlook Data File…
You can now check if the backup was successful and make sure you backed up the correct file.

Here comes the actual use now. In the case of a real disaster, the original .pst file would be missing or will be beyond repair. When the pst-file is missing, Outlook would have prompted you for the pst-file location. Now take help of the backup file. Close Outlook and restore the file from backup to D:\My Documents\My Outlook as shown above. Then start Outlook again and if prompted browse to the location of the pst-file. Most probably you will regain access over all your data back.

There are a lot more possibilities and let’s see what can be done to tackle them. If you don’t have a backup copy, the backup is old, backup file itself is corrupted, scanpst.exe is not helpful, there is still an answer. Take help of a recovery tool for Outlook repair PST. They are the best solution under any circumstance. You don’t even need any backup or diagnose whole Outlook in order to repair the .pst file. Just install, locate the PST, and wait for a few minutes; wow, it’s all set.

Get hold of Outlook PST Repair to experience excellent repair features. It is a spectacular tool with all the eminent repair features. Also, this Outlook repair PST software helps you restore formatting from RTF and HTML messages. Use it to repair Outlook 2010, 2007, 2003, 2000 and 97 version as well as MS Outlook Express v5.0, 5.01, 5.5 and 6.0. A free evaluation version is also available to check the potential of the software.

A PST or Personal Storage Table is an important aspect of Microsoft Outlook as it represents a place for data and email storage. All the information such as contacts, personal folders and calendars are stored inside the PST files. These files have the open proprietary file format which is used to store copies of all data and information within Microsoft Exchange Client or Microsoft Outlook. Though the PST files have numerous beneficial features in terms of storing data, but they do also corrupt or damaged due to certain reasons. Many hardware or software issues are responsible for the failure of PST files which need to be repaired while recovering the data. You can go with various PST repair tools when your PST files get damaged or corrupt. You may also use a third party software solution like Repair Outlook PST Software for repairing your PST files and recovering the data.

The problem with the PST files is that they tend to be corrupt easily resulting in the loss of data, emails or contacts. Virus infection, hacker attack or sudden power failure may affect the PST files which further make the data lost. Since all mailboxes are stored on server, the users get affected and lose their calendars, contacts and messages. The possible cause of PST damage is the corruption in the headers of the PST files which arises during a version upgrade. Another possible cause of corruption is that the PST file has 2-GB size limit, once the size exceeds the corruption occurs instantly. In this case, the Outlook repair PST tool is used which helps in repairing the corrupt PST files as well as recovering the lost data. These repair tools instantly repair the corrupt PST files and recovers the emails, calendars and other data for the users.

There are various Outlook repair PST tools available, but you can make a choice of Outlook Repair PST Software as yours one. This is an eminent utility that restores destroyed or damaged PST files for MS Outlook. It recovers all the lost data, contacts, notes, journals and tasks and rebuilds a new PST file. Further, it displays the recovered emails and data in a tree structured form and preserves the original format of the files. The recovered files become easily accessible with MS Outlook.

Outlook Repair PST software might just display symptoms of file corruption when PST file exceeds its threshold size limit. MS Outlook might just display certain symptoms of file corruption when the file size reaches its verge. However, in these events, if you lack a valid backup copy of the PST file, then you are forced to perform Outlook repair PST. Most of the MS Outlook issues arise when you initiate the application and once such issues arise they come along with error message that depict the actual issue causing the damage. One such error message is given below:

“Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.”

After the error message occurs, you can neither start MS Outlook 2007 nor can open your configured Outlook profile. However, if the error persists, you can re-install MS Outlook. Mentioned below are some of the possible causes of the above mentioned error message:

1. Issue with Outlook navigation pane
2. Outlook profile gets damaged
3. Outlook pst is corrupt
On can easily fix the error message mentioned above by:
1. Resetting navigation pane
2. Deleting the damaged or corrupt Outlook profile and creating the new one with all the accounts and settings. The data can be synchronized by attaching pst file to the new Outlook profile
3. However, if the MS Outlook is still inaccessible, then most probably this is due to PST damage. Repair the corrupt PST by running Outlook Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe). This file is located usually at this location: Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12

In case scanpst.exe too fails to perform repair pst, then you can fix Outlook using third party Outlook repair software. Outlook PST repair software allows the user to recover data easily and with utmost ease. The software is available as a free version too so that you can recover the data to check the accuracy of results.

MAPI services (Messaging Application Programming Interface) sometimes creates problem in MS Outlook, which is installed with Corporate and Workgroup option.

MAPI services error creates trouble when you compose mail, send mail, receive mail, check for new mail, send a fax, or create a new Calendar item in Outlook. Other email actions, like deleting items from the Calendar, Inbox, and Contacts might also get troublesome. All your Outlook work stops when you get MAPI error.

Moreover, if you attempt to open the Outlook, you receive the following error message:

“The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, start Outlook again.”

If you look for the reason behind this error message, you will find that exceeding size limit of PST file has been the culprit.

But not to worry you can resolve this issue by using “Allow upgrade to large tables” feature. This upgrade feature is available in all versions of Outlook 97 and above versions.

In case “Allow upgrade to large tables” is not resolving the issue, then follow the series of solutions and look for positive Outlook PST file recovery.

Empty the Deleted Items Folder – you can first of all, go for emptying the ‘Deleted Items’ folder. as this folder holds on lots of space and increases the size of PST file.

Use the Inbox Repair Tool – Use Scanpst.exe utility (Inbox Repair tool), which scans the corrupt PST file and fix up the error issue.

If Inbox Repair tool is not solving the problem, then create a New Personal Folders (.pst) File and then create a New Profile. After that install a new set of MAPI files. Finally, reinstall Windows.

Hope that the above troubleshooting steps resolves the corrupt PST file issue and eradicates the MAPI services error, which has been caused due to oversized or corrupt PST file.

In case, nothing concrete comes up, then repair PST using Outlook PST Recovery software. Repair PST Software repairs corrupt PST file and recovers all PST file data including messages, attachments, contacts, tasks, notes, appointments, calendars and journals. Repair PST tool reads the damaged PST file, recovers all available data from it and saves recovered email data to a new PST file.

Every MS Outlook user may have encountered issues with your Outlook profile sometime or other. If Outlook crashes or displays error messages then the most probable though striking every mind is, corruption. Well, one of the first steps to recover your Outlook data before doing things like uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook is creating a new profile. A new profile is also recommended when you upgrade to the latest version of Outlook. Creating a new email profile in MS Outlook is all about email accounts, data files and information regarding location of your emails.

Follow the given below steps to create a new email profile in Outlook.

In Microsoft Windows, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.

If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, click User Accounts, and then click Mail. In Classic view, double-click Mail.

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, click User Accounts, and then click Mail. In Classic view, double-click Mail. The Mail icon won’t appear unless you have Outlook installed and have run the program at least once.

The Mail Setup dialog box opens.

Click Show Profiles.

Click Add.

Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.

Add an e-mail account to use in your profile by following the directions on your screen.

In the Microsoft Exchange Settings dialog box, enter the name of your Exchange server, verify your username is correct, and then click Next.

Click Finish, and then click OK.

This way user can create a new email profile in Outlook without any issues involved. In order to use your existing personal storage table data, select the new profile from the Mail dialog and choose Properties, then Email Accounts and finally, View or change email accounts. Now select New Outlook data file and then find your existing PST, add it to the profile and make it default. When you are using an old PST, you can use the default PST format on the New Personal Store dialog. If the newly created profile fixes your problem, you can get rid of the old profile.

However, if Outlook is still acting weird then you need to scan it with recovery software. Recovery tools are competent and efficient in approach to repair all the errors and present a new PST file with all your data in Outlook. Repair PST using Kernel for PST Repair software for the best results.

Consider a situation when you try opening MS Outlook and suddenly you receive an error message saying-

“Cannot start the reminder service. Unable to show reminders”

The error displayed above is related to MS Outlook reminders. When this error appears alone, then the issue can be resolved easily. However, if this error occurs along with another error-

“An unknown error has occurred. 0X80040600”

then the time required for resolving these issues might be more. Basically, with the occurrence of these two errors, MS Outlook loses the ability to send and receive email messages. The errors occur, when Outlook folders are damaged with some kind of corruption issues, and Outlook fails to show the reminders. However, if you delete the reminders, you might be able to resolve this issue. But if MS Outlook fails to perform email operations due to second error, its quite possible that your PST file is damaged.

In order to clean the reminders items to get rid of this issue, follow the steps given below:

Click Start and click the Search or Find option

Click ‘Files and Folders’, type ‘Outlook.exe’ in the named box and press ENTER

Note the full path of ‘Outlook.exe’ and close the box

Click ‘Start’ and then ‘Run’

Type the full path of ‘Outlook.exe’, press SPACEBAR, type ‘/’ (the forward slash) and then command-line switch ‘Cleanreminders’ to delete the reminders

After this Outlook must start working normally, however, if it still doesn’t works for you, then we suggest you to use Repair PST software.

In order to insert or embed picture or a graphic to an email message, you need to set the email format to HTML:

1.Go to Tools menu, click the Options sub-menu

2.On the Mail Format tab, in the Send in this message format list, click HTML

3.Select the Send Pictures from the Internet

4.Click Apply and then click OK

To embed a picture or graphic in your email message body, follow the steps given below:

1.Open a new email message and place the cursor on the message body

2.Go to Insert menu, click Picture and then browse to the picture or graphic that you want to insert as an embedded file to the email message

3.Click the file, click Open and then click OK

This way the picture or graphic that you wanted to embed as a file in the body of your email message will get embedded the way you wanted.

Personal Storage (PST) file stores comprehensive amount of data files comprising of personal and professional data. PST is saved in computer’s hard drive and is quite susceptible to corruption if hard drive gets damaged due to any reason. Threats such as malicious virus, improper shutdown and other hard drive corruption issues might hamper the integrity of these PST files.

The most common move when corruption strikes are to grab your backup files. Now once you restore your system using a recovery disk, you expect everything back to normal. But after restoration when you try to import the PST file in the Outlook Account, following error gets displayed:

“An error occurred while importing/exporting and the import/export was terminated. MAPI error 0X80070057 was reported. Please try to import/export again later”

This error occurs when Outlook tries to connect with your Microsoft Exchange server. If happens because Microsoft Outlook profiles have specific properties may cause the Exchange Profile Update tool to fail. On restoration, all the files are not properly linked and that may forbid you from viewing your mails which are though present on the disk. You need to create your profile manually to resolve this issue.

If still not solved, then it means that the PST file has been corrupt. User can use the Scanpst.exe utility to repair the corrupt PST file and can later on easily import the repaired PST file in the Outlook account. After performing the Scanpst.exe test, the user will find that only the file structure is available and the rest of emails are hidden and inaccessible. A better and easier option is to use a recovery tool. Use them to repair any kind of corruption in PST file. You can directly repair your PST without the need to recreate your profile, as instructed earlier.

Repair PST software enables you to repair all the lost and corrupt data from the PST. With its strong algorithmic approach, every email attribute is retrieved and saved in the proper order. You can preview your data before saving them. Repair PST tool is a quintessential software that enables user to repair PST and perform recovery of PST data such as emails, journals, contacts, calendar and more.
